Turner’s roots in Western Pennsylvania date back over 100 years. In 1917, we built the National Biscuit Company’s (NABISCO’s) new plant in East Liberty, and over the following decades we built many of the prominent buildings in Pittsburgh, including the 64-story US Steel Tower, which is still the tallest building in the city. Turner opened a full-service Pittsburgh office in 1976 and, since then, we have grown to a staff of over 100 who work on projects across Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. We are proud to build in the same region in which we live as we continue to build the future of our communities.
Turner Pittsburgh works with a diverse mix of public- and private-sector clients and has built or managed the construction of many leading commercial, healthcare, science & technology, institutional, and industrial facilities. We have cultivated excellent relationships with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and minority- and woman-owned business enterprises (M/WBEs) in the region and we offer in-house scheduling and full-service estimating expertise.
In addition, our office is a leading builder of green buildings and LEED-certified projects and built the first Net-Zero/Living Building project in the region, (and one of the first on the planet), Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Center for Sustainable Landscapes. We are committed to sustainable building practices, and we integrate sustainable principles into all of our projects.
Turner Pittsburgh is able to achieve great value for our clients with the combination of our national purchasing power and our ability to engage smaller, local firms in the community. We have a dedicated Interiors division that delivers projects at all revenue scales along with our New Construction Group who can deliver the largest scale projects. Our clients value our input and collaboration as well as our experience balancing program, budget, time, and aesthetics on some of the most challenging and sophisticated projects in the region.
We believe in delivering unparalleled client value while strengthening the foundations of our Pittsburgh communities. Our leadership team strives to earn the trust of clients and business partners, while nurturing relationships with our local trade partners, non-profits, and community organizations. We are invested in the City of Pittsburgh and the surrounding region and look forward to continuing to build the future here.
Turner’s Pittsburgh office teamed up with Foster Love Project – a local nonprofit with a mission to show love and kindness in action to children impacted by foster and kinship care through the provision of goods, services, and support.
