Miami Intermodal Center at Miami International Airport is a four-story, 3.4 million square foot rental car facility with a 100,000 square foot customer service lobby, retail and office space for up to 20 rental car companies, and spaces for approximately 7,000 vehicles. The facility also includes return areas on the lower three floors with 120 fuel positions and 42 wash bays for car maintenance. The post-tension, precast and cast-in-place concrete structure uses an estimated 9,800 pieces of precast concrete, and sits among roadways, bridges, and developed site areas that are also part of the project.
Additional work includes construction of an elevated people mover station to shuttle travelers between the facility and nearby terminals.
