Turner Construction Company Staff Complete "Paint the Town Blue" Volunteer Blitz

December 10, 2012

More than 110 Turner employees spent this past Thursday through Saturday assisting 15 Cincinnati-area charities, offering their time and talent to tasks from repairing a stairway for an elderly homeowner to playing kickball with children in need.

Now in its fourth year, Paint the Town Blue is a holiday volunteer project started by Turner’s Cincinnati office. Each year, projects are identified by local charitable organizations and Turner recruits its own employees for teams assigned to complete these tasks over a three-day period.

The need is great, and while many of the 15 organizations served have been a part of the program in the past, there are several new projects this year: repairs at Epic (Elderly Persons in Community), a pizza party for kids at Brighton Center and repairs at Winton Woods Riding Center, where a team of Turner employees rebuilt part of a stable and clean tack to help the agency prepare for winter.

“These are such basic tasks that would cost organizations thousands to do on their own, but because construction is what we do, we can take care of them pretty quickly and easily,” said Brian Mooney, General Manager for Turner in Cincinnati. “Our employees really enjoy this event and we are proud to support our community with Paint the Town Blue.”
