Become a SubcontractorTurner was engaged by the 625 Powell Street Foundation to convert the former “The Butler Did It” catering location into a modern office space for three non-profit organizations: United Church, The Kettle Society, and the Dude’s Club. Working closely with code consultant GHL and the City of Vancouver, Turner helped determine and implement the required Part 11 building code upgrades, which included structural, seismic, mechanical, electrical, and architectural improvements, along with the installation of a commercial kitchen. The project was executed in two phases, with Phase 1 focused on the building restoration and compliance upgrades, and Phase 2 involving tailored tenant improvements for the three charities. Community engagement played a key role through a development permit process that welcomed public feedback, resulting in the integration of bike storage and parking. Turner conducted extensive meetings with the City to ensure full regulatory alignment and successfully delivered the project on time and on budget, achieving all original objectives including functionality, schedule, budget, and team collaboration.
