Turner Celebrates New Era for Historic Michie Stadium at West Point

Transformation of the East Stands enhances the experience for cadets and fans at the historic home of Army Football.

Turner celebrated the completion of the Michie Stadium Preservation Project at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York, marking a new chapter for one of college football’s most historic venues.

The renovated East Stands welcomed fans for the first time as the Army Black Knights opened their 2026 football season. The completion follows more than two years of construction completed while Michie Stadium remained operational for football, lacrosse, graduation, and other events.

The approximately 160,000-square-foot project rebuilt and modernized the East Stands with new premium seating and hospitality spaces, improved concessions, upgraded building systems and circulation, and a revitalized Army Athletics Hall of Fame. The new structure also provides panoramic views of the playing field and the Hudson Valley.

“Seeing the East Stands filled with cadets and fans is an incredibly rewarding moment for everyone who helped bring this project to life,” said Luigi Morfea, Construction Executive, Turner. “Our team and trade partners worked with tremendous dedication to deliver this transformation while keeping Michie Stadium active throughout construction. We are proud to help preserve what makes this venue special while preparing it to serve future generations.”

The completed project preserves the character and traditions of a venue that first opened in 1924 while introducing modern amenities designed to elevate the experience for cadets, graduates, families, and fans.
