The PPG Science Pavilion is a 48,000 square foot, three-story addition to the Carnegie Science Center. The addition contains classrooms, a traveling exhibition space, and a special events space. This project also included renovations and improvements to the Science Center, which included new finishes, revised interior layouts, including a kitchen, elevators and stairs, and new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Renovations and improvements were also made to the Omnimax dome screen theater which converted the space into a Rangos Giant 3D Cinema Theater. The theater features a new 70x38 foot screen, making it the only "Giant Screen" in Pennsylvania, as certified by the Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA). New seating, carpeting, walls, and concession area were part of the renovations.

The project is LEED v3 Gold Certified.
