project at a glance

Turner provided construction management services for The Rockefeller University revitalization and modernization. The project comprised of three buildings: The Collaborative Research Center (CRC), the Laboratory Animal Research Center (LARC) Annex, and the Welch Hall Library Modernization (WHLM). The 250,000 square foot CRC project included a full renovation of two laboratory research buildings at the north end of the campus, Flexner Hall and Smith Hall. A bridging building connected the two existing buildings on all floors.

The 29,000 square foot LARC Annex project is a four-story addition to the east side of the LARC. The project consisted of research suites for investigators in neuroscience and behavior research. Three floors are devoted to animal research and offices for administration and support staff.  The fourth floor houses mechanical equipment and contains shell space that can be built out in the future. The 30,000 square foot WHLM included a full renovation of the landmarked building, providing more space for computerized conference rooms, a kitchen, dining rooms, lecture hall and offices.
