Phil Lerman

Phil works closely with Kate Van Zeyl, Vice President and General Manager, and Jason Brown, Vice President and Operations Manager, as well as Turner’s project operations and safety leadership teams. Through this collaboration, he partners with project teams to integrate safety planning, risk mitigation, quality assurance, and schedule certainty into every phase of construction—supporting high-quality outcomes while upholding Turner’s industry-leading safety performance and operational standards. With experience spanning a broad range of project types, including data centers, healthcare, and higher education, Phil brings deep expertise in managing large-scale, technically complex construction programs.

Phil joined Turner in 2001 as a Field Engineer in the Chicago office after earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. With more than two decades of experience at Turner and as a Turner-accredited Master Builder, he brings visible, engaged leadership and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction programs across the region.

Phil lives in Palatine, Illinois, with his wife, Heidi, and their three sons, Jack, Graham, and Cooper. Outside of work, he enjoys working out, traveling, and cooking—especially barbecuing and smoking meats.
