University of Illinois Henry Dale & Betty Smith Football Performance Center

The new Smith Football Center is located adjacent to the renovated Memorial Stadium, and connected to the Irwin Indoor Practice Facility, making it a new front and central hub for football. Features of the facility include new and expanded strength and conditioning and sports medicine space, coaches’ offices, position meeting rooms, player development areas, locker rooms, and other areas for recruiting and prospect hosting. The Center also houses the Levenick Auditorium with sweeping views of the practice fields, a nutrition center and additional fueling stations throughout, a grand lobby displaying Illinois’ football history, and a players lounge complete with game room and barber shop. The sports medicine area has five pools for recovering and healing in addition to an area with the most up-to-date equipment to help with active recovery. An outdoor rooftop terrace built over the weight room roof includes an outdoor kitchen, movie/TV area, fire pits and a 9-hole miniature golf course.
