Located in the epicenter of campus, UConn's Student Rec Center is steps away from the South Parking Garage, UConn Bookstore, Gampel Pavilion, and Homer Babbidge Library. The Center provide a tangible sense of belonging and an environment that values, embraces, and enriches individual differences.
The Rec Center includes a 25-meter competition-ready pool -convertible to water polo - a training pool, locker room facilities, four fitness areas and a 52-foot-tall rock climbing and bouldering area. The Outdoor Pursuits area allows renting of bikes and kayaks, snow shoes and camping gear. There are three racquetball courts, six basketball courts that convert to six volleyball courts or 18 badminton courts by an automated overhead net system, and a suspended track totaling approximately 1/10th of a mile surrounded by windows or colorful murals of the campus.
The Student Recreation Center conforms to Connecticut High Performance Building Code regulations and is registered as a LEED GOLD project. Located in the epicenter of campus, the Recreation Center is steps away from the South Parking Garage, UConn Bookstore, Gampel Pavilion, and Homer Babbidge Library.
