Festival of Arts

Renovation of a Cultural Landmark

After 85 years in their Laguna Beach facility, The Festival of Arts underwent a complete renovation of its grounds and exhibition space. Best known for their annual Pageant of the Masters fine-art festival, the last renovation to the space was performed in 1964 and since that time the Festival of Arts grounds have become one of Orange County's most iconic cultural landmarks.

The renovated facility features The Art Exhibition Grounds, consisting of art exhibit terraces, public park and performance green, public restrooms also serving the 2,500-seat Pageant of the Masters Theater, a gift shop and junior art exhibition area.

Innovatively transformed grounds

The art exhibition areas are located in tensile roof pavilions covering six exhibition terraces. The updated performance green provides park and performance space for music events covered by a seasonal shade structure. The reimagined grounds are brought into compliance with all current accessibility standards and incorporate progressive sustainability features including storm water bio-retention, LED lighting, day lighting and natural ventilation, along with the use of rapidly renewable and recycled materials.
