The San Ysidro Branch Library replaces the existing branch library, which was built in 1924 and was both outdated and inadequate to serve the growing San Ysidro community. The single story, 15,000 sq. ft. library features designated areas for children, teens and adults; an event space; and a 1,000 sq. ft. outdoor patio. The library is LEED Silver Certified. Sustainable features include photovoltaic solar panels, low water use fixtures, and efficient HVAC systems.
