New York City School Construction Authority, P.S. 376Q

Turner provided construction services on behalf of the SCA to complete P.S. 376Q, a four-story elementary school in Queens, NY. The 82,000 sq. ft. facility accommodates upwards of 468 students from pre-k to fifth grade. The space includes art and science facilities, a library, a full-service kitchen/cafeteria, and a gymnasium. Additional features include two separate playgrounds, one of which was constructed to accommodate the needs of younger students.

To complete the project in 18 months, the team facilitated biweekly meetings to review progress and forecast upcoming work. This collaborative approach ensured that potential scope of work issues were addressed before they could affect the overall schedule. For example, the team initiated a winter protection plan to fully enclose the building and allow interior construction to continue during winter.
