Confidential Client Transmission Operations Center

A TOC Designed to Withstand, Built to Serve

The Confidential Transmission Operations Center is an 80,000 sq. ft. mission-critical facility designed to monitor, control, and support transmission operations. The facility is divided into three primary areas: Area A houses administrative offices and a designated quarantine space; Area B contains TDC arenas, staff support areas, and a second-floor observation level for visitors, along with sequestration space for emergencies; and Area C, located at the rear, accommodates computer rooms as well as the telecom, electrical, and mechanical infrastructure for the entire center, including EMP-protected equipment.

The hardened facility is designed to withstand catastrophic winds and will be a Tier III, N+1 approach to systems redundancy. The project was required to pass HEMP (high-altitude electromagnetic pulse) shielding testing.
