City School District of Albany
Interiors, New Construction
The project entails preconstruction and construction management services for the multi-phase project of a large-scale renovation and expansion of the high school. Completed in four phases, the rebuilding of Albany High School is projected to be complete by the start of the 2025-26 school year and will renovate approximately 378,000 sq. ft. of existing space and add nearly 250,000 sq. ft. of new construction. Located in the rear of Albany High’s Washington Avenue campus, the three-story building addition contains 71 classrooms, 5 resource rooms, 9 group breakout rooms, 1 nurse’s office suite, and 1 administrative office suite on each floor. The high school's art and music departments found a new home in Phase 2's newly built two-story addition. Boasting ample natural light from its floor-to-ceiling windows, the addition offers spacious areas for instruction and rehearsal, state-of-the-art technology and acoustics, and a design that flawlessly merges architecture and engineering, prioritizing health and well-being. Renovations include a complete makeover of the existing three-story academic wing, which will include space for career and technical education programs.
