??Turner’s Denver office raised more than $70,000 at their ninth annual Turner Open Golf Tournament this past summer. Now patients will begin to feel the benefit of that donation, as Turner has formally presented a check for that amount to National Jewish Health.
National Jewish Health is a Denver-based non-profit academic medical center known worldwide for its treatment and research of respiratory, cardiac, immune, and related disorders. The donated funds will be used to purchase a digital laryngoscopy system and the presentation ceremony included personal testimonies from employees and patients that showcase how doctors use this equipment in their research and how it is making a difference in people’s lives.
One patient’s family wrote movingly about the role of the digital laryngoscope, describing their daughter’s battle to breathe. She was a long distance swimmer with dreams of swimming in college, frustrated by respiratory issues. “Because of her breathing difficult her dream was slipping away,” wrote her parent. “But [thanks to the success of her treatment] I’m happy to let you know that we are leaving tomorrow to take her to a private D1 university and she will be swimming for them and on scholarship.”
With 144 participants and the support of 27 corporate sponsors—including Platinum Sponsor Johnson Controls and Silver Sponsors Schuff Steel, Drake Williams Steel, RK Mechanical, Rocky Mountain Excavating, and E&K—the Turner Open was once again a sold-out success. ?
