Turner Construction Company is pleased to announce the Special Projects Division of the Denver Officehas begun renovation to the Helen G. Bonfils Theatre Complex at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA).
Designed by Semple Brown Design, phase one includes the renovation of the 1985 Space Theater, which features 532 in-the-round seats spread over two levels, as well as development of associated backstage support areas, and public restrooms.
The Bonfils Theatre Complex, home to the Stage, Space, Ricketson, and Jones theatres, was built by the DCPA and granted to the City of Denver in 1979. At the time it was built, Time magazine called it “the crown jewel of the Rockies”, and the Tony Award-winning shows produced within its walls since that time have only added to its significance. More than 400 plays have been produced in the Bonfils Complex since it opened 36 years ago and more than 150 new plays have originated in the DCPA’s new play program.
Turner has worked at the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC) continuously since March 2009.
