April 09, 2015

Turner’s Colorado office, in partnership with the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), recently held a ceremony for 57 graduates of the Turner School of Construction Management

The eight-week course was offered free of charge to small business owners, with classes held every Tuesday evening at AGC Colorado’s classroom. Turner’s Denver Business Unit has hosted this course for the last 15 years.

Courses were led by various business professionals including Turner staff members as well as a construction lawyer from Moye White. Topics included Green Building, Project Delivery Systems, How to Run Your Business, How to Get Paid, Estimating/Procurement, BIM, Scheduling, Accounting, Field Operations, Safety, Sales, and Marketing.

Reflecting on the course, students praised Turner and the Turner School of Construction Management, saying, “We enjoyed the class and will recommend it to others,” and, “Thank you Turner for doing this class. It has helped a lot and I cannot wait to take what I learned back to my company and apply it."

Created in 1969 in Turner's Cleveland office, the Turner School of Construction Management is the company's oldest community outreach program, now offered in more than 30 Turner offices.
