August 10, 2011

Turner Construction raised $18,019 to benefit The Gathering Place through their 5th Annual Turner Open Golf Tournament held on August 2, 2011 at The Golf Club at Bear Dance in Larkspur, CO. This year’s tournament sold out with 144 participants and 27 corporate sponsors. Over the past five years, Turner has raised $79,560 for The Gathering Place.

Turner credits much of the support for this tournament from their platinum, gold, and silver sponsors including RK Mechanical, E&K of Denver, Siemens Industry, SimplexGrinnell, Ludvik Electric, Johnson Controls, PSI, Schuff Steel, Harmon, Kroenke Sports Charities, McClone Construction, Dean Electric, Hull Tech Construction, and Brannan Companies.

The mission of The Gathering Place is to support women and their children  who are experiencing homelessness or poverty by providing a safe daytime refuge and resources for self-sufficiency. In 2007, Turner constructed The Gathering Place’s new, $7 million, 28,800 square foot facility at the intersection of Colfax and High St. in Denver. The project included the demolition of an existing 11,000 square foot facility.
