The Des Moines Flying Service is a general aviation sales and service company and provides service and support to The Des Moines International Airport (DSM), the largest airport in Iowa. This ground-up expansion and relocation of their airport hangar provided 35% more hangar space for their aircraft and operations.
The 26,000 sq. ft. single-story building received an addition of 15,000 sq. ft. of hanger space, as well as renovation to office and maintenance space. The project also included site improvements like landscaping, site paving, site utilities and relocating some MEP and owner-provided equipment from an existing facility.
Removing the old hangar significantly opened up space on the northeast side of the airport for a planned new terminal project, which Turner is also managing.
