project at a glance

Turner provided preconstruction and construction services for a two-story, 26,029-square foot expansion on top of an active emergency department at the Le Bonheur’s Children’s Hospital. This two-phased project included 11,249 square feet of renovation to the existing sterile processing department (SPD) on the ground floor, which remained active during construction, and the buildout of six operating rooms (ORs); sterile storage; equipment storage; and the renovation of the existing OR suite locker rooms on level two. The SPD renovation was completed in six phases, with zero interruptions to operations.

Additionally, this project included the buildout of The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry. Buildout consisted of four dental exam rooms and seven total dental chairs, with the ability to add an 8th chair in the future.

This project was awarded without competition based on the team’s excellent track record at Methodist Le Bonheur.
