Canopy by Hilton Columbus

167-guestrooms to the downtown Columbus, Ohio Arena District corridor. The design and interior décor of this 12-story hotel was influenced by local history and the artistic urban Short North neighborhood. The guest and visitor experience offers a roof-top bar, an elevated terrace, flexible meeting space and a café featuring local food and beverages. This project is recognized as a ‘best practice’ model for challenging and complex site constraints and logistics. The new building shares a party wall (originally constructed in 1903) with the property to the east for the first three-levels of the new building and is inches away from the building adjacent to the west. “To say that this site has no lay-down space is an understatement,” commented Jason Rhodebeck, project executive. Prefabrication and just-in-time delivery practices were utilized to help the team manage site and schedule challenges. The project achieved LEED-NC Certification.
