Yale Center for British Art Restoration

project at a glance

Taking a conservation approach, the restoration of the Yale Center for British Art preserved, reused, and refurbished as much of the original Louis Kahn design as possible, with minimal replacement of material. The project also posed a number of unique and exciting challenges, including routing updated utilities within the original roof, and intricate matching of finishes and details such as travertine stone, as well as maintaining proper humidity levels for the still-occupied space.

Turner's Connecticut Office was awarded a Connecticut Building Congress Project Team Award for the project.
