The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is dedicated to Rock and Roll music and the artists, producers, and engineers who contributed to its popular success.
Located on the shore of Lake Erie, the museum features one of designer I.M. Pei's signature glass pyramids combined with architectural elements that reference the arm of a record player. The front of the museum opens up to a large, circular plaza that alludes to a record, while the back faces, and is built into, Lake Erie. The seven-level building includes the Ahmet M. Ertegun Exhibition Hall and two movie theaters as well as a stage on the entrance level for special performances and events.
