Turner provided construction services for the interior renovation of New York University’s (NYU) English Department, located at 244 Greene Street; a masonry building originally built in 1896. The scope of work included the gut and fit-out of floors one through eight. The renovated facility includes faculty and administrative offices, meeting rooms, support spaces and a reception lobby entrance.

To support the new programming requirements, Turner upgraded the building’s entire MEP infrastructure that included the installation of a code compliant life safety system and electrical wiring throughout. Structural upgrades included the installation of a roof and replacement of all building’s windows. Highlighting the project’s LEED Gold certification is a day light harvesting system that utilizes occupancy sensors to reduce NYU’s overall energy consumption.
