The 492,500 square foot, nine-story, San Diego New Central Library includes an outdoor plaza and café, 350-seat auditorium, three-story domed reading room, 400-seat multi-purpose room, teen center, 10,000 square foot children’s library, technology center, and two levels of underground parking.
Two floors of the library totaling 76,000 square feet will be used for a charter school serving about 400 students. The New Central Library is seeking LEED Silver certification.
