Turner provided programme management services for the overall infrastructure development of the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) project. A 70-acre, international financial and economic hub, consisting of 25 buildings totaling over 21 million square feet of office, residential, hotel, retail, and leisure spaces as well as a signature tower. The TRX infrastructure work includes an intricate network of traffic connections consisting of roadways, tunnels, flyovers, walkways, and a vast public realm. It aims to house up to 250 global financial services companies and is estimated to generate a gross development value of over $8 Billion. TRX is designed as a “smart” district built on a digital master plan with state of the art technologies to enhance liveability, safety, and security.
These technologies include a mobile and wireless “cloud” for district-wide connectivity, smart waste, energy, and water management, as well as offices and residences with a host of e-services. Also included are the primary utility services, 275-kilovolt power, main water supply, district cooling with Central Energy Plant, and on-site wastewater treatment facility with recycled water. In addition are public transport connectivity, and major improvements to adjacent arterial and secondary roads.
Turner’s scope involved the design management, full commercial services, and construction management of all of the infrastructure development.
