Taipei 101

A walk in the clouds

Taipei 101, stands at 508 meters and was the tallest building in the world when completed in 2004. It comprises of a steel frame commercial tower and retail podium, the built area is 370,000 sq. m., composed of 214,000 sq. m. of office space, 83,000 sq. m. of retail space, and 73,000 sq. m. of parking space. The high-level observation decks are accessed by high-speed shuttle elevators, operating at 1,010 meters per minute. Taipei 101 was announced as “the world’s tallest green building” in July 28, 2011 receiving LEED Platinum certification for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance (EBOM).
