SoFi Stadium, home to the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers, is the first football stadium constructed in Los Angeles in nearly a century. The open-air stadium seats approximately 70,000 and is also the only indoor-outdoor stadium to date, as well as the NFL's largest.
Acting as the centerpiece of a nearly 300-acre development, the stadium shares a roof canopy with two additional unique venues - the 2.5-acre covered outdoor American Airlines Plaza and the 6,000-seat YouTube Theater which all can simultaneously host different gatherings or work together for one large-scale event. Developed by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman Stan Kroenke, designed by HKS Architects, and built by the Turner-AECOM/Hunt joint venture, SoFi Stadium's architecture incorporated a series of engineering feats.
The one-of-a-kind elements range from an event level 100 feet below grade to the world's largest cable net roof structure, to the installation of the 2.2-million-pound Infinity Screen by Samsung - an ovular, double-sided 4K HDR video board longer than the field and the first of its kind in sports. In addition to hosting Superbowl LVI in 2022 and the College Football National Championship in 2023, SoFi Stadium is also slated to host the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2028 Summer Olympics.
