Supply Chain Management
The Roper St. Francis Berkeley Campus involved the development of a 40-acre greenfield site with a 80,000 sq. ft. Medical Office Building and a 50-bed community hospital. The project utilized a design-assist approach, allowing for an early engagement of subcontractors and a phased component GMP approach to fast track the design and the construction of the facility.
The 130,000 sq. ft. hospital has full functionality of all services including observation rooms, obstetrics, physical therapy, infusion therapy, radiology, imaging services, emergency department, full laboratory services and pharmacy. It was designed to accomodate a future expansion of 400,000 sq. ft. and 200+ beds. The four-story Medical Office Building includes space for hospital administration and future fitout space that supports the overall site development.
The project team effectively managed the diversion of existing USACE Wetland areas and the required coordination with SCDOT for tie-in to a major roadway.
