Barclays Dryrock Renovation

A Space Built with the Client in Mind

Located at 125 S. West Street in downtown Wilmington, DE, the Barclays Dryrock Fit-out was a two-phase renovation project, with the first phase consisting of the first and second floors, totaling 35,450 sq. ft. The second phase consisted renovating the third through fifth floors, totaling 128,332 sq. ft.

The finished space is home to Barclays existing banking operations, with the intention behind the renovations to encourage greater colleague engagement, improve working conditions, and enhance the existing technology systems. The fit-out work included selective demolition for new programming and amenities, upgraded finishes, and a new client space. The upgrades consisted of a new reception desk and lobby, and an upgraded café. Given the bespoke quality of the new finishes and systems, coordination with Barclays end-users was critical.

BIM was utilized in design for all above-ceiling MEP systems, furniture, workspace connections, and café equipment. With the specialized nature of the common spaces and amenities, enhanced coordination processes and meetings were implemented to ensure proper fit and compatibility was achieved with all end-user equipment.
