Kendall Square at MIT – Site 5 (314 Main Street)

Transforming Kendall Square

The South of Main or “SoMa” Development spans multiple parcels across 10 acres of land in Kendall Square with the creation of three new buildings, underground parking, and ample green spaces. Site 5 is an 17-story 465,000 sq. ft. commercial office building with a mechanical penthouse that includes space for a museum on three of the lower floors, as well as ground floor retail space.

Construction for this project ran concurrently with the garage, Site 3 and Site 4. The building houses the MIT Museum, MIT Press bookstore, and a mix of other tenants.
