Marquee Rooftop Sign Replacement

Taking branding to new heights

The 25-story Walker-Cisler Building serves as headquarters for energy provider, DTE. A new branding direction prompted the need to replace previous signage on the roof level of the high-rise, downtown Detroit structure. Five months of safety planning by DTE and Turner paved the way for four, 22-foot marquee signs to be installed using a Sikorsky S-64 helicopter to lift the 34-ton signs into place. These efforts even shortened the duration from an anticipated two hours to 41 minutes on the actual day of installation. The Turner Engineering Group was also consulted to review all rooftop penetrations where new anchors would accommodate the four new signs.
