Kaiser Permanente Infusion Pharmacy Upgrades

Turner provided preconstruction and construction management services for renovations and upgrades to Kaiser Permanente’s five infusion pharmacies to meet USP 797 and 800 requirements for compounding labs to improve technician safety and the quality of patient drugs. All facilities remained occupied and operational during construction, and the Turner team coordinated with Kaiser’s mobile compounding lab to provide continued work space for the pharmacists during work in each building. Upgrades include extensive mechanical renovations, new roof-top units, air handling units, exhaust fans, stainless steel ductwork, supply diffusers with integrated HEPA filters, and fume hoods for greater air exchange flows. The project also includes electrical upgrades to support the news mechanical systems, LED lighting upgrades, chemical-resistant finishes and flooring, and touchless sliding automatic doors to maintain sterility when moving through the facilities. All finished spaces meet ISO 6 and 503(a) requirements.
