The Horizon Tower at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, Maryland campus. The 178,450 sq. sf., seven-level tower was delivered through a phased approach that maintained full hospital operations while integrating the new structure with the existing Emergency Department and connecting to the hospital at every level.
Originally constructed as a core and shell facility, Turner was later awarded the complete interior fit-out, reflecting a continued commitment to project success. Extensive site work, new mechanical and electrical infrastructure, a dedicated ambulance road, and utility upgrades were carefully sequenced to support ongoing operations and future growth.
The completed tower enhances patient care with 26 ICU rooms, 24 progressive care rooms, 24 medical surgical rooms, a new Emergency Department and triage area, advanced imaging suites, catheterization labs, and cardiovascular interventional radiology procedure and recovery spaces.
