Eisenhower Medical Center Annenberg Pavilion

Bringing Advanced Healthcare to the Coachella Valley

The Annenberg Pavilion houses 126 inpatient beds, with each of the patient rooms fully equipped with the latest monitoring capabilities and technologies. The facility also houses 34 beds in the critical care units, along with a cafeteria, information systems, environmental services, and nutritional and materials management departments. Located in the Coachella Valley, a popular seasonal resort area, the pavilion was designed to be scalable to meet demand at peak times. An innovative expansion-bed concept effectively allows the hospital to maintain its routine use of 160 private beds, while expanding its capacity to provide a total of 248 licensed beds when necessary.

Sustainable Practices

The project was featured on The History Channel for its heavy use of recycled building materials. From the use of recycled steel to landscaping in a dry, hot desert climate, this project sought ways to reduce waste and optimize energy consumption in keeping with the ongoing efforts to implement green sustainable practices to the benefit of the client and the community.
