Confidential Central Mechanical Building

Powering Performance at Houston Distribution Hub

The 14,000 sq. ft. facility houses critical mechanical systems to power the adjacent distribution plant. The building was constructed using steel, CMU (concrete masonry units), and explosion-proof metal panels for durability and safety. It contains key equipment, including boilers, condensers, air compressors, refrigeration compressors, and glycol and ammonia tanks, which provide essential cooling, refrigeration, and HVAC services to the distribution plant.

Leveraging SourceBlue for critical MEP systems

A significant portion of the MEP systems for the building was sourced through Turner’s MEP arm, SourceBlue. This collaboration ensured the efficient procurement and installation of specialized equipment tailored to the facility’s needs, including explosion-proof electrical panels and industrial refrigeration systems. SourceBlue’s involvement helped streamline the process, reducing lead times and ensuring the timely delivery of critical systems to power the adjacent plant.
