Turner is committed to supporting and expanding the social, economic and educational opportunities available to small businesses in the construction industry. Our Turner School of Construction Management program, offered at no cost, is uniquely designed to enhance the technical, business, and administrative skills of small business owners. 

Who Should Attend
Minority-owned, women-owned, disabled veteran owned, disadvantaged and small emerging businesses that are general contractors, specialty contractors, construction managers, construction consultants, and other companies that work closely with construction firms. There is NO COST to program participants, however, to be considered a graduate of the Cincinnati Turner School of Construction Management program and receive a Certificate of Completion, participants must attend a minimum of eight of the 10 classes.

Participants will receive expanded practical knowledge and best practices to guide their business success. They will also extend their network of industry professionals and resources - offering the potential of future business partnerships.
 
Program Topics
Presented in an interactive environment, each class features a specific topic taught by industry professionals. The topics include:

• The RFQ + Site Logistics, Safety, and Pre-Bid Meeting
• Project Delivery + Risk Management
• Procurement + Certifications
• Construction Drawings + Specifications Reading
• Estimating: Project Take-off and Subcontract Bid Leveling
• Scheduling + Lean
• Bid Preparation + Proposal Assembly
• Accounting Basics for Contractors

When and Where
The annual program consists of 10 consecutive classes, beginning in September and concluding with a graduation ceremony in November. Each session is held on Wednesday night from 6 pm to 8 pm at Turner’s Cincinnati office.
 
The curriculum covered is presented in a team environment. It's to the participant's advantage to commit to attending the entire 10-week session.

Enrollment Criteria
This program is for minority and women owned businesses. The program is built around a mock project that requires participants to have basic construction knowledge, including the ability to read blueprints, and present a bid proposal to a panel of evaluators.
