The Town of Castle Rock, Colorado selected Turner Construction Company to perform preconstruction work at Philip S. Miller Park and Fieldhouse. In addition to trails, an outdoor play area, traditional playgrounds, athletic fields, an amphitheater, water features, and other amenities, the 225-acre park will include a 50,000-square-foot fieldhouse with indoor synthetic turf fields, an indoor play adventure area, and swimming pools.
"This is a fundamentally different park than anything else in Castle Rock or within our area. The blend of indoor and outdoor recreation, opportunities for cultural arts and access to open space will ensure there is something for everyone at this park. The fact that of these amenities will be located within a beautiful and rugged natural setting make the project even more exciting,” said Town Parks Planning Superintendent Jeff Smullen.
The design team is led by BHA Design Inc with Sink Combs Dethlefs designing the field house. Construction is scheduled to commence in May 2013 with an anticipated completion date of June 2014 to coincide with an anticipated town-wide 4th of July celebration.
