Turner Tops Out Healthcare Facility on Long Island

The East Hampton Freestanding Emergency Department will meet the needs of the local community.

Turner Construction Company celebrated the topping out of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s East Hampton Freestanding Emergency Department on Long Island, New York.

The state-of-the-art, single‐story Emergency Department will offer members of the community access to emergency and fast‐track treatment rooms. The facility will also include emergency and fast-track treatment rooms, isolation rooms, imaging rooms, and support spaces. The satellite emergency department will operate under the Stony Brook Medicine healthcare system.

Sustainability is a major focus of the project with rooftop solar panels, a rain‐catch garden, and native plantings that will reduce the environmental impact of the building.

“We are excited to reach this milestone on a project that will bring emergency healthcare services closer to members of the community,” said Richard Alvarez, Vice President and Director of Healthcare, Turner Construction Company. “This accomplishment is all thanks to the incredible work of our trade partners, design team, owner, and Turner team.”

The 33,000-square-foot facility will be completed in Fall 2024.
