project at a glance

Previously occupying floors 2 through 6 and 14 through 15 at One North End Avenue, the New York Mercantile Exchange’s (NYMEX) parent, CME Group entrusted Turner to execute their office consolidation program. Now occupying floors 2 through 8, Turner phased CME's consolidation over the course of several years. Key to the project’s success was Turner’s ability to safe-guard CME's on-going operations; a platform for the exchange of billions of dollars’ worth of commodities.

To facilitate the consolidation, Turner devised precise work schedules that dovetailed with CME's peak operating hours, thereby safeguarding their critical operations. The new contiguous space features an open office plan accented by casual meeting enclaves, a 4th floor conference center, and a monumental staircase connecting the 3rd and 4th floors. Constructed to maximize energy efficiency, the office space features a window shade system that employs photo sensors to automatically adjust shade position based on sunlight exposure.
