The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene relocated 3,000 employees to this 550,000 square foot, Class-A office space. This interiors project comprised of 19 floors at 2 Gotham Center was active while core and shell work was underway, which required special coordination and logistical planning.

To meet the programming and design challenges of consolidating agency units from several different and separate locations into one cohesive and efficient central site, the project team closely collaborated to complete the entire project 10 months from start of construction to final move in. The interior’s construction project took place concurrently with the construction of the building’s core and shell. The open plan increases efficiency, fosters communication, maximizes natural light and city views.
