The team from Turner Construction Company's Cleveland office celebrated the topping out milestone of the MetroHealth New Hospital.
“Adding the last beam to the structure of the tower at MetroHealth, completes the outline of this, the cornerstone of the hospital’s Campus Transformation,” said Turner's Senior Project Manager, Jeff Abke.
In conjunction with construction management partners, Adrian Maldonado and Associates, Ozanne Construction, McTech and Donley’s, the ten-story hospital project features 270 patient beds and includes a multi-level connector building which will attach to the existing Critical Care Pavilion. A Central Utility Plant and loading dock will be completed in unison with the New Hospital.
“The team at MetroHealth is very proud of the way that we have been able to come together to keep this project working in the face of the pandemic,” said Abke. “There are so many people that depend on the continued work — It’s not just the hospital that needs the new spaces, but it’s the 350 workers and their employers that need the continued revenue.” Abke continued, “Everyone understands the importance of keeping the jobsite, and the offices, safe.”
