Andy Davis to relocate from Nashville for new role

Turner Construction Company has promoted Andy Davis to business manager of the company’s Memphis office, officials announced today. In his new role, Davis will oversee day-to-day operations and establish short- and long-range goals for the Memphis office, with a focus on the Western Tennessee, Mississippi and Eastern Arkansas markets.

The promotion brings Davis to Memphis from Nashville, where he most recently served as project executive for Turner. Davis began his career with Turner in 1997 as a part-time internwhile completing his degree at Middle Tennessee State University. He accepted a full-time position upon graduating in 2000.

Davis has played a substantial role in many of the company’s healthcare projects across the Southeast, including the management of the Ascension Health account from a national level, which is the largest nonprofit health system in the U.S. Over the last 11 years, he has also been heavily involved in several key projects in Memphis, which started with Memphis Mental Health Institute and currently includes the $280 million Methodist University Hospital expansion.

Throughout his nearly 20-year career at Turner, Davis has been involved in 2.8 million square feet of construction. Additionally, he served as lean construction champion for Turner’s Southeast region for the last five years and has helped implement lean practices for the company nationally. He was instrumental in first integrated project delivery (IPD) project in Mississippi, Methodist Olive Branch Hospital. Integrated project delivery incorporates lean construction tools in a collaborative process, resulting in a seamless construction/design team contractually obligated and incentivized to work together while focusing on driving efficiency, eliminating redundancy and waste and improving project outcomes.

“Andy brings a strong focus on developing our people and adding value to our clients, which has helped lead to our great track record of successful projects in the Memphis market for the last 10 years,” said John Gromos, vice president and general manager of Turner's Tennessee/Alabama business unit. “Investing in additional resources and top-tier talent like Andy will continue to position our Memphis office for great growth and success in the future.”
