Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall Expansion

Setting a Higher Standard

The meetings and events industry has significantly changed since the original Las Vegas Convention Center was built, and having wide-open exhibit halls was no longer enough to be competitive. The massive Phase Two Expansion symbolizes moving the Las Vegas Convention Center from the old tradeshow model into a modern convention center with flexible meeting space, open lobbies, mostly column-free exhibit space, food court, first rate truck loading facilities, and an integrated people-mover system that can connect the campus across the old building to the new.

Raising the bar for sustainability

Raising the bar for sustainability

Early in the planning process for the expansion, the owner committed to setting aspirational requirements for sustainability as well as two different green building third-party certification systems, LEED and Green Globes. The Las Vegas Convention Center will be the first facility of its kind to achieve both certifications, setting a rigorous precedent for future competing convention centers.
