The large scale, multi-phase renovation of the Student Center Building at Wayne State University, originally built in 1969, recreated the building as the campus “living room," offering a modern environment for learning, collaboration and recreation.
The 94,000 square foot building remained occupied during the renovation, which spanned five floors in three separate phases. The Student Center now features a more open layout with an abundance of natural light, a retail food court, and a credit union. Numerous student gathering areas are located throughout that foster greater collaboration and an interactive video gaming area, a pool and ping pong hall, a restaurant, an intimate performance stage, and dance studios are featured in the lower level.
