Since 1969, Turner has been offering the Turner School of Construction Management. This free program is offered to expand the opportunities available to minority and women-owned business enterprises and their employees within the construction industry, and improve their economic viability.

Who Should Attend?
Female and minority small business owners working as general contractors, subcontractors, construction managers and/or consultants, and individuals who align their services/products with the AEC industry.

Program Topics
Presented in an interactive environment, each class features a specific topic taught by industry professionals. The topics include:

  • Understanding Blueprints
  • Basic Concepts of Estimating
  • Scheduling: From Bid Phase to Project Completion
  • Financial Fundamentals for Construction Contractors
  • Safety & Field Operations
  • Insurance & Bonding: How much is enough?
  • Networking and Sales

When and Where
The 12-week program occurs once a year. Courses start in February and are held at Tri-C's Metro Campus.

Cost of the Program
The Turner School of Construction Management program is FREE. Those interested in attending should verify their schedules to take advantage of attending this program in its entirety.

Enrollment Criteria
This program is for minority and women owned businesses doing business within Northeast Ohio and that have actively performed construction industry work for at least two years. The program is built around a mock project that requires participants to have basic construction knowledge, including the ability to read blueprints.
