Our Self-Perform Legacy
Turner was founded in 1902 as a general contractor with a significant self-perform concrete business -- pioneering the use of reinforced concrete for general building. And, by the early 1920’s, Turner had built approximately 70 percent of the concrete buildings in New York City.

Self-Perform Today
To this day, self-performed work is a key part of our vision: to be the highest value provider of global construction services and technical expertise.

Our experience with self-performing work means that we are particularly adept at accurately planning and pricing the work in the pre-construction phase, as well as maintaining increased control over scheduling and sequencing while delivering superior quality throughout construction. The increased control self-performance offers over critical path trades such as foundations or drywall helps set the bar for schedule, quality and safety on each project from the very early stages. Our capabilities in this area are widely known in the market and serve to protect the owner’s interests.

We have the in-house expertise to self-perform a wide variety of tasks including:
  • Concrete foundations & excavation
  • Concrete structure
  • Concrete Hardscape
