University of Georgia - Black-Diallo-Miller Residence Hall

A Living Environment that Supports Academic Success and Personal Growth

The University of Georgia's new Black-Diallo-Miller Residence Hall is the first new-build residence hall on campus since 2013. The building honors Harold A. Black, Mary Blackwell Diallo, and Kerry Rushin Miller, the first African American students to enroll as freshmen and complete their undergraduate degrees.

A residence hall designed for flexibility

The six-story, 120,500 sq. ft., 525-bed residence hall houses first-year students in double occupancy rooms, flexibly designed to allow students to reconfigure and customize their in-room furniture layout. Additionally, all bedrooms feature large windows, built-in closets, and individualized climate control. Privacy-enhanced community bathrooms are located in each hall or wing of the building. The design reflects an efficient use of space that supports the university's commitment to an appropriate balance between student needs and affordability. The new student housing building also provides enhanced amenities designed to improve the student experience and develop personal growth, including shared lounges and study areas that support academic success, an exterior courtyard, laundry areas, and community kitchens.
