Turner is proud to have been a part of this first class J.R. Payden Fieldhouse and Payden Park in Derby, Connecticut. The two story fieldhouse is a 23,000 square foot facility boasting seasonal locker rooms, weight room, training room, offices, food concessions , banquet hall and memorabilia room with exposed wood glulam beams. The Field House features outside porches allowing complete circulation around the building and views of the baseball field on one side and the football field on the other.

The entire Baseball field is synthetic turf including the infield, warning track and pitcher’s mound. Site improvements include a lower ADA/Bus drop off parking lot, landscaping, site stair providing a connection to the existing Middle and High School as well as a parking lot and Media Booth/spectator stand renovation for the Football field. In addition a 35’ high retaining wall was first constructed to make way for the additional land required to house the baseball field.

The project was funded entirely and named by the daughter of Joseph R. Payden, a 1915 Derby High School baseball player and valedictorian who graduated from Yale and flew missions in World War I.
